How Badger Commerce Uses Google Sign-In
Badger Commerce offers Sign in with Google as an authentication option for merchants, store owners, and customers. When you sign in with Google, Badger Commerce creates a shared identity account that can be used across any Badger Commerce hosted site.
This shared account acts solely as an identity provider — it allows you to log in conveniently using your existing Google account rather than creating a separate username and password.
Google Data We Request
Badger Commerce requests only the three basic, non-restricted OAuth scopes:

We do not request access to any restricted or sensitive Google scopes. We cannot read your Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, or any other Google service data.
What We Store
The shared Badger Commerce identity account stores only the three fields received from Google:
- Your email address
- Your name
- Your profile picture URL
No other personal data is stored in the shared identity account. Individual Badger Commerce sites may store additional information you provide to them (such as delivery addresses, order history, or preferences), but this is managed independently by each site under its own data policies.
Data Security
- All authentication is handled through Google's secure OAuth 2.0 protocol
- We never see or store your Google password
- Communication is encrypted via HTTPS at all times
- You can revoke Badger Commerce's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page
