Cookie policy

The small files we store in your browser, what each one does and how long it lasts. Last updated 3 November 2026.

The short version

We use the cookies Badger Commerce needs to work: to know which shop you're visiting, to keep your basket and sign-in, and to keep the platform secure. These don't need your consent.

On www.bdgr.co.uk we also use Google Analytics to count visits, but only if you say yes. Our cookie banner asks first, and you can change your mind at any time from the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We don't use advertising cookies.

This policy covers www.bdgr.co.uk, the admin that shop teams use, and the sign-in pages at auth.bdgr.co.uk. Shops that run on Badger Commerce set the same essential cookies, and may add their own analytics: each shop's own cookie policy explains what it uses.

Cookies Badger Commerce needs to work

Cookie What it does How long it lasts
SETT_SITE_ID Remembers which site on the platform you're visiting 30 days
BDGR_USR A random ID for your browser, signed so it can't be forged, that keeps your basket and account together 30 days
BDGR_VIS Records when that ID was last active, so pages load faster 30 days
BDGR_SESSION Keeps you signed in as you move between pages Until you close your browser (ends after 30 minutes without activity)
bdgrRMCookie Keeps you signed in if you tick "keep me signed in" Up to 30 days for customers, 3 days for shop staff
BDGR_STEPUP_… Records that you've just confirmed a sensitive admin action, so you aren't asked again straight away 5 minutes
BDGR_AUTH_SESSION Keeps your sign-in going on auth.bdgr.co.uk Until you close your browser (ends after 1 hour without activity)
bdgr_consent Remembers your cookie choice 1 year
bdgr_store On shops with stores: remembers the store you chose 90 days

All of these are set by Badger Commerce itself, are only sent back to us, and can't be read by scripts on the page.

Security cookies set by our providers

  • Cloudflare, which delivers and protects our sites, may set cookies such as __cf_bm to tell people from bots. They last up to 30 minutes.
  • Google reCAPTCHA on our contact form checks that the form is being filled in by a person. Google may set cookies to do this. See Google's privacy policy.

Analytics cookies (only if you accept)

Cookie What it does How long it lasts
_ga, _ga_… Google Analytics: counts visits and shows which pages are used, without identifying you to us Up to 2 years

Google Analytics only loads after you accept analytics in our cookie banner. If you reject them, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it doesn't load. Google's own privacy policy explains how it uses this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

Changing your choice

Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page on www.bdgr.co.uk to change your choice. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the cookies Badger Commerce needs, you won't be able to sign in or keep a basket.
