In the last week of September we filled the remaining gaps that stopped an AI assistant from building a complete site on its own.

  • Images. Assistants can import images into the media library from a link or an upload, and edit titles and alt text.
  • Custom CSS. Assistants can read and replace the shop's custom stylesheet, using the design brief's colour and font tokens.
  • Product types. Shipping, tax, quantity rules and donation defaults can be set on products, so an assistant can create a real donation product with Gift Aid.
  • Identity and brand. Name the shop, set its logo and design brief, and pick a theme.

We've been testing this on real projects. A complete pitch site for a mountain rescue team was built this way, with its shop, donation products, news and pages. So was a 28-page redesign of the Kedos Consulting website, and so was this site.

Assistants connect to the shop with OAuth, as a claude.ai connector or from any other MCP client, so there are no API keys to copy around.
