Badger Commerce 0.81 gives fulfilment partners a place of their own, and gives shoppers better ways to narrow a long catalogue.

A portal for whoever packs your orders

Each item on an order now has its own fulfilment state, so a donation or a download completes by itself while the physical items wait. Products can be assigned to a fulfiller, which might be your own team or a partner, and each fulfiller is told only about their own items, by email, by a post in their own Slack, or both. Slack posts never include customer details. Emails can also be limited to a notification with a link if you'd rather personal data didn't sit in a partner's inbox.

Fulfillers sign in at /fulfilment to a phone-friendly board with three columns: to pack, packing and done. Orders show up there as they arrive. Every pack and dispatch is recorded against a named person. See operations.

Filters that fit the results

The filters a shopper sees now depend on what the search or category actually contains. Colours show as swatches, sizes and lengths as ranges with a slider, and there are filters for price and star rating. On phones, a quick-filter bar sits above the results. Size and colour filters take stock into account, so asking for a black size 9 finds a black size 9 that's in stock. Shoppers can also search within a category. See search and merchandising.
