Release 0.86 went out on 8 October. It makes the basket quicker to reach, and puts every word your customers read under your control.

The whole basket, one click away

On Brock, Depot, Pop, Spec and Atelier, clicking the basket in the header now opens a drawer with the whole basket in it: each line with its picture and options, any stock notes, a quantity control and a remove button, and the subtotal with checkout pinned to the foot. Shoppers can change their basket without leaving the page they were browsing.

The "added to basket" message has been reshaped so it can't be mistaken for the basket itself. It says how many other items are already in the basket, and "View basket" opens the drawer with the new item highlighted. See storefronts.

Your wording, everywhere

Every piece of text a shopper sees on the storefront can now be changed in Site Text: search filter names and price ranges, messages on fundraiser and subscription pages, and the text read out to screen readers. The customer emails follow suit. Order confirmations, dispatch and cancellation notices, return updates, review requests, gift card deliveries, subscription and fundraiser emails all take their wording from the same place, so a shop that says "parcel" rather than "order", or "supporter" rather than "customer", can say it in its emails too. The sign-in link email is worded in your site's language as well.

Also in 0.86

  • Pages with content blocks such as featured products, blog lists and fundraiser progress load faster, and still show changes as soon as you save them.
  • Plain-text versions of emails no longer show stray codes in place of apostrophes and pound signs.
  • The checkout summary shows the delivery price you chose, and asks for a delivery option if none is set.
